This policy describes what data Engify ("we") processes when you use the chatenglish.online web app or our browser extensions (including AI Language Tutor), and why.

What we collect

• Messages you send to the tutor — chat messages and, in the extensions, text you explicitly select on a page and ask about. They are sent to our server to generate a reply with the help of AI language models.
• Your settings — the language you are learning and your native language.
• A random identifier — an anonymous ID generated on your device so your settings and conversation history persist. It is not linked to your name, email or browsing identity.
• Basic usage statistics — such as message counts, used to operate and improve the service.

What we do NOT collect

• We do not read or store the pages you visit. The extensions only process text you explicitly select and submit.
• We do not collect your browsing history, passwords, payment details or precise location.
• We do not use your data for advertising and we do not sell or share it with third parties for their own purposes.

How data is processed

Messages are processed on our servers and passed to AI model providers strictly to generate the reply you requested. Conversation history is stored so the tutor can keep context. Chat history in the extension is also cached locally in your browser and can be removed by uninstalling the extension.

Data retention and deletion

You can request deletion of your conversation history and identifier at any time — email us at hello@chatenglish.online.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be published on this page with a new date.
